The 2012-2013 NBA first round playoff schedule has been officially announced. The Denver Nuggets play against the Golden State Warriors this Saturday at 3:30 p.m to kick off the Western Conference. While on the other side of the country, The New York Knicks play against defending champs, the Boston Celtics at the Madison Square Garden. The Los Angeles Lakers barely made the 8th seed in the Western Conference. One of the MVP’s on the team, Kobe Bryant suffered a bad injury this past week. After being fumbled on by an opposing player, Kobe has torn his left Achilles last Friday night.”Bryant fell to the floor with 3:08 remaining in the fourth quarter Friday night while being guarded by the Warriors’ Harrison Barnes Bryant had played every minute of the game up to that point, scoring 32 points — including back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game with 3:45 remaining” (espn.com) It was stated that it might take Kobe at least 6-9 months to recover. After the incident many NBA players went on social media and voiced their concerns. Before and after surgery Kobe Bryant himself posted Instagram photos of him at his MRI and leaving the hospital It’s safe to say Kobe is out of surgery and on a road to a long recovery.
Dwight Howard and The Laker players are all working hard for that Western Conference trophy! Hopefully they will be able to pull through.

I’ve always dreamed of interning in a big city. Gaining experience while exploring a new world outside of Orlando is on every college student’s bucket lists. But the cost of living, subleasing your apartment and all the other stresses of moving usually get in the way. And if you’re an out of state student like me, you’re parents are not particularly willing to let you bounce around the country.
