University of Texas: Look-for-less under $50!

I hope everyone is having an awesome week so far! What fun did you have for the fourth of July? The weekend is approaching! What do you have planned for the weekend? If you are familiar with our Thursday blog posts you would know we have a new school this week ! If you are new, Welcome ! Every Thursday we target a university and pick out a fabulous outfit for under $50! We also have swimsuits and apparel on our Miss Fanatic website on every school we choose. This week is our last week to showcase our fabulous outfits representing each schools colors. If you would like us to continue please feel free to let us know and we will!!

This week we targeted University of Texas. UT is located in Austin, Texas with an enrollment of 51,000 students. They are known as the Texas Longhorns because of the longhorn cattle that are an important development of Texas. Over the years they have won 47 national championships and 39 which are NCAA championships.  In 2010, the Longhorns suffered their worst season under  going 5–7 and finishing last in the Big 12 South. It is interesting to know that their main rivalry is Texas A&M , their infamous school slogan is “Hook ‘Em Horns!”

The outfit that was chosen today is something you can wear on a girls day out shopping as well as on  game-day.  The brown high-low dress is simple but fun. It adds a hint of detail on the back with the braid and racer-back. The leather quilt clutch is really cute! It is big enough for you to add your wallet, makeup, and a little more. The detail on the bag adds more excitement to the outfit with the gold chain detail.  Since the high-low brown dress is a little simple in the front it is great to add a statement necklace to spice up the piece. The reason this specific necklace was chosen is because the gold and black beading connects with the black quilt clutch. The main goal is for everything to flow smoothly and this outfit does so perfectly.

Kansas State University: Look-for-less under $50!

I hope everyone is having an awesome week so far! What is something interesting you have done? What do you have planned for the weekend? If you are familiar with our Thursday blog posts you would know we have a new school this week ! If you are new, Welcome ! Every Thursday we target a university and pick out a fabulous outfit for under $50! We also have swimsuits and apparel on our Miss Fanatic website on every school we choose.

 

This week we target Kansas State University. KSU shortened to K-state is located in Manhatten, Kansas with the enrollment of about 26,00 in the fall of 2011. KSU was originally named Kansas State Argricultural College, and is the oldest public university in the state of Kansas. Willie the Wildcat is KSU’s official mascot. Coach Chief Bender, in 1915, gave his football team the name “Wildcats” because of their “fighting spirit.” It is interesting to know that “When the college opened for its first session on September 2, 1863, it became only the second public institution of higher learning to admit women and men equally in the United States.Enrollment for the first session totaled 52 students: 26 men and 26 women.”

The outfit that was chosen today gives the KSU fans and students, a chance to represent the school colors in a fashionable way. You can wear this outfit for  a Saturday game-day or everyday school day. Some might be uncomfortable with royal purple pants, but you have to keep in mind, the bright colors are still in trend and these pants are very eye-catching. Dribble, Shoot and Score!

Since the NBA lockout is officially over and college basketball is in full swing, a viewing party to watch your favorite team is the best way to have a great night in! Your team too far away to be in the arena for all the live action or a college budget doesn’t allow enough spare cash for some tickets? No worries, invite your fellow fanatic friends over for a night filled of basketball fun and friendly rivalries. All you need are a few simple things to make your place “the place to be” for basketball fun all season long!

Make sure your local television provider has the games you plan to watch on their schedule. Nothing is a bigger damper on a basketball party then not being able to actually view the game. Go your television providers website to view their schedules of upcoming games to make sure your good to go before you send out the invites.

Make fun game friendly foods, ignore the evil diet man on your shoulder and indulge a little in the sake of basketball! Part of the fun of being at a game is the atmosphere, food being included, so bring some arena snacks into your home! My personal favorite arena snacks are of course the common pretzels and pop corn, easy enough to find at your local grocery store along with several other game day must have treats.

Have a sweet tooth? Make some fun basketball cupcakes! I am currently in a huge tie dye batter phase in my baking life and highly recommend adding this fun little twist to the usual cupcake. Dye the batter the colors of the teams of the nights big event. Guaranteed to be a huge hit and will be talked about among your friends for the next few parties, trust me.

How to tie dye batter:
Separate your usual cupcake batter into different bowls (as many colors as you plan to use)
Add food coloring to those separated batter bowls
Then layer the colored batter into the cupcake wrappers

Once cooled ice the cupcakes with a cute basketball design! The outside will look like a cute basketball with a surprise of the teams colors inside!

With these great tips on how to make your basketball party a hit all you have to do is throw on your favorite teams gear (obviously made by Miss Fanatic) and pour your over-the-drinking-age self a cold beer. With your friends by your side and the game on the screen there is no way that this could not be a great night…unless your team looses.

How to Make the Most Out of This College Basketball Season

Okay, I have to admit that I know NOTHING about basketball; however, we all know that college basketball season can spark many good times with friends as well as new romances! So make the most out of this basketball season—even if you don’t like the sport.

 

A. If you have a man, make it a basketball game date night. It will make him happy, which in turn will make you a happy girl. Sometimes in relationships we have to sacrifice a little of our pride to make the people we love happy. This is a perfect way to do that, if your guy likes basketball of course! So, for the next game, make it fun! Get dolled up in your favorite teams’ gear with a pair of denims, heels and a blazer. Buy a couple of beers and make light of the situation-the other great thing is that the game can be free, with your college id! Have your guy explain the game to you, and show some interest. Your curiosity could lead you both to happy endings! Check out how these celebrities spend their date night at a basketball game. B. If you don’t have a man, make it a fun friend’s night. Every guy likes a girl who can appreciate a good game. However, if you truly don’t like the sport, fake it till you make it baby! Go out with a solid group of girlfriends, and scout out the single dudes out there! Flaunt your stuff with a hot new outfit that shows your class, and your team spirit, especially with Miss. Make your game day attire shine!

GAME DAY STYLE
With the championship games rolling in and your team needing every student’s support, you have to prove your fanaticism here and now! What is the best way to do this you ask? By flaunting those colors and letting them shine! That being said—glitter, glitter, and more glitter, is ALWAYS appropriate to show your love and appreciation of your school. Why not have reasons to go all out with the paint, glitter and glam on the next game day? By sporting the newest trend you are sure to get that attention you want and the “ooh’s and awes” from your peers. I know it may be a daunting experience to be the center of attention, but sometimes, it is exciting and feels nice to be the most appealing thing in the room—or at tailgate for that matter! Let me just say that my absolute favorite game day attire are glitter shorts! They are a fanatic’s perfect accessory to glam up any outfit. Paired with a similar color spirit shirt, some ribbon, glitter, and rockin’ makeup, you are sure to turn heads! I tell you this from experience. At the last tailgate of the year, I sported this outfit because I wanted to end the season off with a BANG. Not to sound arrogant, but I really got a dozen compliments that day, I felt like a million bucks! Doesn’t it feel great to be flattered sometimes? It boosts that self-esteem, and makes you feel all warm and toasty inside. Now, I LOVE my school colors because black and gold are a perfect pair, but whatever school you go to you can be sure to find a pair of shorts that will scream school spirit, all you have to do is search a little.

Don’t Mess With Texas Tech

When it comes to the saying, “Don’t mess with Texas,” we think of one school in particular, and that’s Texas Tech. Finishing with winning records in its last fourteen seasons, the fourth longest streak in the nation, the Red Raiders are not to be toiled with. You will find only that the most dedicated fans show up to the games decked out in red and black. And a big part of those fans are the ladies of TT. The lady Raiders are not just your typical southern belles, they enjoy football just as much as the dude standing next to them cheering in the stands! So how does a Texas gal dress for game day? Miss Fanatic has just what you’re looking for!

Gator Ladies Rock the Swamp

Winning three national championships and eight SEC titles in football, the University of Florida knows how to win. With their athletics being the only program in the nation to finish among the nation’s top 10 in each of the last 27 national all-sports standings, there’s no question that the Gators “Rock the Swamp!” So what about the Gator ladies? Yes, they pride themselves in showing up in orange and blue sundresses, but that doesn’t mean they care more about fashion than football. These ladies will be quick to chomp down on any opposing fans that stand in their way! And we’ve got some great game day looks for the next UF game!

If you’re a Florida gal, let’s face it, game day can be pretty brutal under that scorching sun! Talk about an epic melt down. EEK! So leave the layers at home and try one of our sexy bikinis. Georgia Bulldogs All Dolled Up

If it’s one thing the University of Georgia knows how to produce, it’s star athletes. UGA is the only school to have three Super Bowl MVPs, inlcuding, Jake Scott (Miami Dolphins), Terrell Davis (Denver Broncos), and Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers). So what kind of fans cheer on the Bulldogs? Well, Georgia peaches of course! Ok, so not actual peaches, but we’re talking about the holsome and charming Bulldogs lady. Don’t let their sweet southern charm fool you, these ladies may look all dolled up for the games, but their hearts will forever remain with the Bulldogs.

So, we know the UGA ladies like to dress up for the games, which is totally fine! We’ve just got some suggestions in case you want to explore your more sporty yet sexier side.

It can get pretty hot during those day games in Georgia. So pulling your hair back (we can hear you shreaking already) or clipping up part of your hair might be an option for you. Just because you can’t let your locks flow doesn’t mean you have to gringe down. Try these great bows hair clips from Forever 21. Their sure to keep that girlish look you still want!

It’s All About the U

When it comes to football, the University of Miami knows its stuff. With its program named as national champions five times and producing many NFL players, the Hurricanes have proven to be a force not to be reckoned with. And just like the program they support, the Canes ladies are certainly not fans to mess with! It can get a little heated if you’re against their team, and no, we’re not talking about that blazing sun!

So what should you wear at the next football game or any sporting event for The U? Well, we prefer the less is more approach. After all, Florida is the Sunshine state! K-State Game Day Look

Kansas State University is known for their fighting spirit! The Wildcats have produced 98 all-conference performers and 47 All-Americans since 1993. K-State’s athletics are not to be reckoned with and when it comes to their die-hard fans, look out! The ladies of KSU are fully into their school spirit and it shows during game days so Miss Fanatic decided to dabble into their look for this upcoming football season!

Most games will have great weather, after all, it is the Sunflower state! So we recommend getting some flashy sunglasses for game day. This pair from Forever 21 are great for tailgating. Cheap, flashy and fun!The K-State ladies like to keep it simple. So our Scrimmage halter is perfect with a pair of white shorts. It’s royal purple stands out from any other product on the market! Want to go a little bold? Our In the Zone bikini will have you tailgate ready for those games in the sun!

Tailgating at KSU is mostly in the grass, so put away your flip flops ladies! Try something more sportier yet still fashionable. Try wearing more comfortbale shoes that will get you through the tailgate and more importantly, the game! We recommend these purple Converse.
